COVID

Appointments

Guests are asked to wait outside of the shop at the time of their appointment and will be let in by their stylist. Guests must arrive alone and without entourage. Please bring minimal personal items. Guests are to ask their stylist for assistance with retail items and to not touch anything on the shelves. The stylist will make sure it is ready for their departure.

Hand Hygiene

The most important thing you can do to prevent infection and protect loved ones is to wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your face. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Using soap and water is the single most effective way of reducing the spread of infection. Do not touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. Wash your hands after any touching of your face.

If you have to cough or sneeze, make sure you sneeze or cough into a tissue or the crook of your arm (elbow) and then wash your hands.

All staff will wash their hands between any contact with guests and after touching their face, eating lunch or using the washroom.

Cleaning the Shop

• All tools, equipment, and stations must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guests following the Barbicide and bleach protocols posted in the color room.

• Washroom, common tables, desks, light switches, and door handles must be disinfected

Physical Distancing

Please respect the physical distancing guidelines of being 2 meters (6 feet) apart from others in the shop.

Payment for Services

Contactless payment will now be accepted through credit card on file.

Virtual Consultations

We are offering virtual consultations to our guests as an option. When booking a client, please confirm if they would like a consultation over video call or to the shop.

Illness

Anyone with COVID‐19-like symptoms such as a sore throat, fever, sneezing, or coughing must self‐isolate at home for a minimum of 14 days from onset of symptoms, until their symptoms are completely resolved. You are also not to come to the shop if someone in your home has been confirmed to have COVID-19 until it has been 14 days since the onset of their illness and they no longer have symptoms.

All clients are screened for illness by their stylist before confirming their appointment.

Staff may need to reschedule if for any reason their is suspicion of illness.

Protective Equipment

Staff and guests are required to wear masks at all times in the shop except staff who are in the lunch room when on break.

Walk In Clients

We are no longer accepting walk-in clients. If someone is wanting to book an appointment, they will need to either call or message the salon. 

Staff have been thoroughly trained on all our protocols and signs are posted throughout the shop.

SHOP POLICIES

Booking and Canceling Appointments
It is preferred that appointments be pre-booked in order to maintain the recommended cut, color or treatment, and to
ensure that the stylist can accommodate your schedule. The stylists at Chantel Funk + Co. are often booked ahead of
time and cannot guarantee last minute appointments. We require a deposit of $100 for all new clients undergoing any
colouring treatment. This deposit will be applied to the final cost of the booked appointment.
48 hours notice is required in order to cancel or reschedule any appointment. If you are unable to give 48
hours notice, you will forfeit your deposit and it will not be refunded; the deposit will be applied to the cost of the missed
appointment. Failure to give 48 hours notice will mean that another deposit will be required before booking any future
appointments.
We will require a current credit card to be added to your file upon booking your appointment. In the event of your failure
to attend your scheduled appointment or should you cancel or reschedule without giving 48 hours notice, the credit card
on file shall be charged a cancellation fee, being $100 for any colour appointment and $40 for any cut appointment. In
the event your scheduled appointment required a deposit to be put on file, the aforementioned cancellation fee will first
be deducted from any deposit we have on file and any balance owing will be charged to your credit card.


Hair Service and Prices
All prices at Chantel Funk + Co. are starting at prices. The stylist who booked your appointment and the stylist who is
servicing your appointment cannot guarantee a price. Price is reflective of how much color product is used in the hair and
the amount of time that is needed for the appointment, which cannot be predetermined. Stylists will endeavor to
communicate how much product is being used during the appointment. PLEASE ADVISE US OF YOUR BUDGET and
confirm the stylist understands if this is a concern BEFORE the service is started as otherwise, we cannot guarantee the
cost of any service.
Stylists at Chantel Funk + Co. are continuously being trained further to advance their knowledge and expertise, however
hair coloring services are not an exact science and there are many factors that have to be considered while carrying out
these services and which may affect the end color result. Chantel Funk + Co. and its stylists cannot be responsible for
less than satisfactory colors if there is any previous color history in the hair and cannot guarantee or promise they can
accomplish the desired color result in any circumstance. Hair coloring can also be damaging to the hair’s integrity and
structure, and although it is our practice to minimize any chance of damage, it can still happen and any treatment is
undertaken at the client’s own risk.
If you have any concerns about your hair appointment, please make sure to communicate them with your stylist before
the appointment.


Subscription Contract
In the event that you have agreed to partake in our subscription service via our Mindbody Software, we confirm that
payments for the subscription will be charged on the 1st day of the month. In the event that you wish to cancel or change
the terms of your subscription service, 1 month’s notice shall be required. We confirm that there shall be no refund on
any payments made under the subscription service.


COVID-19
While we strive to maintain business as usual, we take the health and safety of our staff seriously and in light of COVID19, are taking steps in order to reduce risk of exposure to anyone who may be sick or who has or may have been
exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days of their scheduled appointment. In light of this, if you have any cold or flu-like
symptoms, have come in contact with someone within 14 days of your appointment who has tested positive for COVID-19
or has cold or flu-like symptoms, or have travelled outside of Canada within 14 days of your appointment, please contact
us to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If we become aware that any of the foregoing is applicable and you have
failed to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we shall reserve the right to cancel your appointment and you will be
subject to a cancellation fee. In the event that Chantel Funk + Co. is required to cease or limit operations due to a
government mandated shut down or an occurrence of COVID-19 at its location leading to a full or partial shut down,
Chantel Funk + Co. shall reserve the right to cancel any appointment and shall use reasonable efforts to reschedule
appointments once its facilities are cleared to reopen.
