How It Started

In 2012 Chantel Funk set out to try something different within the hair industry. She wanted to create a place that was founded on stylists wellness and ability to thrive. A hair salon that started with a culture amongst the team that spread out to our guests. A place where the stylist was encouraged to be themselves, comfortable, inclusive and have a great desire to reach for more in knowledge and skill. We have a dynamic that is unlike other salons where we work together, bounce ideas off of one another and are continually focused on learning. Our goal was to inspire others to care for themselves by caring for ourselves first. As the company matured and the team evolved, so did our philosophy on what we do for our community. In 2017 we went through a rebranding, we changed our name and in turn our focus. We started to recognize the influence hair had on individuals. How a great cut or color paired with a stylist who was passionate about their guest sparked a new sense of energy within our guests. We started to take our color and retail brands more seriously and aligned ourselves with companies that valued integrity and wellness just as we do. We looked through our business and everything we offered with new lens making sure we were on a path to do better for our community, be accessible and focus on inclusion. Its been a long journey and we still have a long way to go. To summarize, we have learned that in order for us to serve our community well we have to be healthy, we have to offer services that promote health and wellness for our guests and make sure we are a safe place for any individual in the community.
