How do I book an appointment?
You can book easily online through our Booking Portal or by calling us at 604-746-7332. We recommend pre-booking as our stylists often book out several weeks in advance!
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee. Life happens — we just appreciate a heads-up.
Do you offer consultations?
Yes! We highly recommend booking a consultation if you’re new to us, making a big change, or need guidance on your hair journey. Consultations are complimentary and typically take 15–30 minutes.
CURLY HAIRCUTS + STYLING
Do you specialize in curly hair?
Absolutely. We specialize in working with all curl patterns — from loose waves to tight coils. Our curl-specific cutting methods enhance your hair’s natural shape and texture.
Should I arrive with my hair styled a certain way for a curly haircut?
Yes. Please arrive with clean, dry, detangled hair, worn in its natural curl pattern — no heavy products, braids, buns, or ponytails. This helps us see your true curl structure for the most customized cut.
Do you cut curls wet or dry?
We typically cut curls dry first to sculpt the shape, followed by cleansing, hydrating, and refining wet if needed. This method ensures your haircut is perfectly suited to how your hair lives naturally.
What products do you recommend for curly hair?
We carry a curated range of curl-friendly, sulfate-free, and silicone-free products. After your service, your stylist will recommend a customized routine for your hair needs and lifestyle.
VIVID HAIRCOLOR
What are vivid colors?
Vivid colors are bold, statement-making shades like blue, purple, pink, green, and more. Whether you want an all-over unicorn color or just a pop of brightness, we can make your dream a reality.
Do I need to lighten my hair first for vivid color?
Usually — vivid colors require a light blonde base for true vibrancy. This often means pre-lightening (bleaching) your hair before applying the final vivid shade.
How long does vivid color last?
We use vivid colors that are permanent and will fade slightly over time. Expect to refresh your color every 8-12 weeks depending on how you care for it at home. We recommend the Elumen Shampoo to maintain the color as it is specifically formulated for the needed pH to maintain the color.
How do I maintain vivid hair at home?
- Use the Elumen shampoo.
- Avoid excessive heat styling without protection.
- Come in for regular color refreshes and conditioning treatments.
BLONDING SERVICES
What blonding services do you offer?
We specialize in all forms of blonding — including balayage, foils, platinum card blondes, babylights, lived-in blondes, and corrective blonding.
Will going blonde damage my hair?
Lightening hair always requires careful handling. At Chantel Funk + Co., we prioritize hair health. We use premium lighteners, bond builders, and advanced techniques to minimize damage.
How many sessions will it take to go blonde?
It depends on your starting color, hair history, and your ultimate goal. Sometimes achieving your ideal blonde takes multiple sessions spaced out for hair safety. Your hair decides what is possible, sometimes there is a limit to what can be achieved.
What’s included in a blonding session service?
All blonding services include a professional consultation, lightening, toning, bond repair treatments, and a custom gloss to perfect your shade.
PRECISION CUTS
What is a precision haircut?
A precision cut is a technically detailed haircut that emphasizes custom shape. Think bob lines, layered shags, and ultra-sharp pixies — crafted to perfection. This can also mean cutting poker straight hair to have more volume and sway so it is easier to style.
Who is a precision cut best suited for?
Anyone! Precision cutting creates intentional custom shape. Ultimately we solve problems with advanced techniques and systems.
How often should I get a haircut?
To keep the shape, we recommend trimming or reshaping every 6–8 weeks.

I’m new — what should I expect during my first visit?
First, welcome! You’ll have an in-depth consultation where your stylist will listen to your goals, assess your hair, and create a customized plan for today and beyond. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident and excited every step of the way.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
- Bring inspiration photos if you have a specific vision.
- Be open to professional recommendations — your stylist will guide you based on hair health and lifestyle.
- Arrive with clean, dry hair for coloring consultations and curly cuts (unless instructed otherwise).

Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds. However, if you are not completely satisfied with your service, please contact us within 7 days so we can make it right with adjustments.
Can I bring my kids or guests to my appointment?
Always! We are an open, inclusive, family first studio!

Yes! Gift cards are available for purchase in-salon— perfect for birthdays, holidays, or simply treating someone special.
