Looking to go lighter in 2025? We asked our team what advice they had to get optimal results. Check out.
Jess – “If you currently have dark hair and want to be blonde, patience is key, especially, if there is previous colour in your hair. You’ll need a few sessions of lightening and bondpro treatments to maintain the integrity of your hair. These sessions may be a full lightening service or highlights, depending on the desired result.
When lightening hair, the natural underlying warmth will always be exposed. Embracing and working with the warmth will provide the lightest looking result, whereas counteracting it to a cooler shade, will result in a darker reflection.
Always make sure to follow up at home with a high quality repairing shampoo and conditioner, as well as leave in repair and deep masks, as needed.
So if you want to go from dark to blonde, remember to have patience and trust the process, and use products to take care of your hair and maintain the health so you can have healthy, shiny, blonde hair.”
Tori – “Dark to Blonde is one of the most popular services in the hair industry. The best advice I have for anyone wanting to join “having more fun club” would be to have inspiration photos and a plan. Sitting down with your hairstylist to discuss the ins and outs of the look you desire, the tone that will make your skin glow, and the amount you want to invest in is key! You also will need a consultation to see how blonde your hair can go in one session or if you need more. If you don’t have virgin hair and have previously coloured hair, it may prevent you getting to your goal. Based on how light you may want to go or hair history a test strand may be needed. Once you talk about lived in, money piece, blended, ribbon, tip outs, partial/full, and tones, you’re going to want to talk maintenance and products. You may hate the brassy tone to come and your hair will most likely need a little more tlc then your dark hair. So it’s super important to have a plan and set your self up for a successful blonde experience!”
Natalie – “Thinking of going from dark to light? Wanna know the best plan of action? I am a blonding specialist and I find the best way to go from dark hair to light hair is slowly in sessions. This will help keep the integrity of your hair. Essentially if you have been using at home colour, it will be considered a colour correction and must be done in sessions. Low and slow is the way to go. Instead of blasting the hair open and damaging it. Lifting slowly will keep hair healthy and looking beautiful!”
Happy hair change!
